“Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.”
‭‭Psa‬ ‭141:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
One of the biggest areas of sin and failure is through the words that come from our mouths. There is only one way to bring our tongue under control. And that is to put it under Christ’s control. To let Him watch over and guard what comes from our mouths. Let’s give Him complete authority over all of our words.

7/30/19

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Lu‬ ‭6:38‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
God’s law of sowing and reaping applies to every area of our lives. It is as we give love that we receive it back. We receive mercy when we show mercy. Giving isn’t just about money and things, it is much more the attitude we demonstrate.

7/29/19

“The LORD knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever.”
Psa‬ ‭37:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬    Many people are seeking for a material inheritance in this world. But for those who love God, we know that we are only passing through this world. It is not our home. And our inheritance is going to to eternal! We will soon leave this world and enter into that place where all is peace and rest forever. Let’s be those upright people who are ready.

7/28/19

“In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”  Gen‬ ‭22:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
This was God’s promise to Abraham after his obedience in a great trial. But on a lesser scale, it is true for all of us. Those around us will either be blessed by our obedience to God, or they will be hindered by our disobedience. By God’s grace, may we live those lives of faithful obedience to God that will bring blessing.

7/27/19

“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,”
Heb‬ ‭10:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬       Our human nature is to make everything about us, which is selfish and sinful. But in these words God is reminding us that we must consider others. Do our words and actions encourage them in a life of love and good works? May God help us to weigh the effects of our choices upon those around us.

7/26/19

““This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”.  Heb‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭NKJV
One of the ways God puts His law in us, is as we daily open our eyes and hearts to His Word. When we read the Bible with a pure heart, it is unlike anything else we will ever read. It is a Living ‬‬Word that quickens our spirits and renews our minds.

7/25/19

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”
‭‭Psa‬ ‭34:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ In this world that has been marred by sin, there will be afflictions and troubles that touch our lives. But the good news is, our gracious Lord will deliver those who put their trust in Him. Let’s not waver when difficult times come, but keep our faith in our loving Heavenly Father.

7/24/19

“But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. He went down…”
‭‭Jonah‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Every move a person makes away from God is a move down. Over and over we find Jonah “going down” because he was turning his back on God. But the good news is, we can turn back to God, and He will lift us up. Because of God’s grace and mercy, we don’t have to go down. But it always requires a willingness to change on our part.

7/23/19

“…Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!”
‭‭Mk‬ ‭10:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.   The riches that Jesus speaks of is not only money. The danger is in trusting in anything that we have or are. Like the riches of religion, or good works, or human strength and intellect. There is only One we can safely trust in, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

7/22/19

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free…” Gal‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
We thank God that Christ has freed us from the guilt and the power of sin. But like all true freedom, we must stand in it! We must fight against those powers that would bind us. We must be willing to pay the price that true freedom requires. This freedom demands responsibility and loyalty to Christ Who has set us free.
