“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were called…”
‭‭I Timothy‬ ‭6:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Even though eternal life is a gift from God, freely provided to us through Christ, yet, we still must fight to lay hold of it. We are in a spiritual battle, facing an enemy who seeks to destroy us. So everyday we must fight to hold onto faith, fight against sin and unbelief. The Christian life is not for those who seek an easy, struggle free life in this world. We are called to be soldiers of the cross. Keep fighting this good fight of faith.

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…”
Hebrews‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬    When we truly have placed our hope in Jesus, it will become an anchor to our soul. It will keep us firm and faithful to the end. It will be sure and steadfast even when all the world around us is losing hope. Our call is to put all of our hope in Him, and believe that He will never fail.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
May God help us to focus our thoughts on these things that glorify our Lord.

“I have set the LORD always before me…” Psalms‬ ‭16:8‬ ‭NKJV
‬‬The life of a true Christian is described in these words. True faith in God is a choice to put God and His will always before our own. It is to set His priorities and His cause ahead of any that we may have. When we set Him as the most important One in our hearts, then our life will follow. Always put Him first!

““Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; Thereby good will come to you.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭22:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
There is nothing more important in this world than for us to know God in personal relationship. Jesus said “This is life, that you know God”. Also, the degree of peace we enjoy, and the good that comes to our lives, depend greatly upon our personal acquaintance with God. May our desire be, To Know Him.

9/25/19

“praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” Eph‬ ‭6:18‬ ‭NKJV
Prayer is the second spiritual weapon. Prayer has the capacity to move God towards men, and men towards God. Part of our spiritual battle, is to keep ourselves in an attitude of prayer. There is no such thing as a strong Christian without a strong prayer life.

“And take… the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬                                        This is the first offensive weapon we lay hold of. It is God’s Word alone that can drive back the enemy and his temptations. How desparately we need to be putting God’s Word into our hearts and minds every day! If Jesus used the Word to overcome the tempter, how much more must we. Lord give us a greater love and desire for Your Holy Word!

9/23/19

“And take the helmet of salvation…”
Ephesians‬ ‭6:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬         The assurance of salvation in Christ is absolutely necessary to protect our mind. It is through the mind that satan assaults us. But knowing what Christ has done, and what He is doing in our lives brings protection for us. Let’s keep our mind focused on Jesus. He is our salvation.

9/22/19

“above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” Eph‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭NKJV                  Faith in God is what Paul is writing about here, that complete trust in Who He is and what He has done. It’s not faith in self, nor faith in our belief, but faith that connects us to God Himself. Because when we know that we are connected to Him, temptations lose their power against us.

9/21/19

“and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬                                       This part of God’s armor is to give us a firm footing in the midst of our battles. The Gospel of Jesus has brought peace to our hearts, and we stand firmly in that peace even as the battles rage around us. Also, it prepares us to take the Gospel to others. To go and share the Good News of Jesus, the One Who is our peace.
