“Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise…”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:56‬ ‭KJV‬‬
When God promises it is forever settled. His promise is unfailing. He is not like people who say things they don’t mean or cannot follow through with. His Word can be depended on. As believers, we rest our eternal souls upon the sure promises of God.

2/16/20

“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness..”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
When we know that God has been so good to us and changed us, and made us His children, how can we not rejoice in Him? Today as we worship Him, may our soul be joyful in Him. May we give Him the praise He is worthy of.

2/15/20

“Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer…be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” Rev. 2:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
This was Jesus’ promise to a suffering people, and it is still true. Suffering will test and try us. But we must determine, by God’s grace, that we are going to remain true and faithful to Christ. It takes more than a one time confession, it takes being faithful unto death. The good news is, His grace is sufficient to keep us.

2/14/20

“The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭35:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
This verse is referring to what happens when Jesus comes into a heart, a home, or even a nation. When He is given His rightful place, as Lord and Saviour, the dry barren places of our lives begin to bloom with life and beauty. But it’s so much more than a mental ‘belief’! It is bowing our wills to His complete control.

2/13/20

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
The strong holds that are most difficult to pull down are those in our own mind. Those evil imaginations God’s Word constantly warns us about. Those doubts and areas of unbelief towards God. God’s goal for us is that our every thought be brought into obedience to Christ.

2/12/20

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬
In this spiritual battle, we must choose the right weapons to be victorious. If we try to use our intellect and willpower, we will lose. But ‘IF’ we will humble ourselves and learn to depend on Christ, we will discover He never loses a battle.

2/11/20

“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬
It is impossible for us to do wrong and think right. Only as we yield ourselves, with all our words and deeds, to the Lord, can our minds be renewed as we need. When we surrender all areas of our life to Christ, He will also bring our thoughts under His control.

2/10/20

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬
While this renewing can only happen through the power of God, the reality is we must be willing to have our our mind renewed. We must cooperate with Him in this process. He leads us into what we should and should not be putting into our mind. He cautions us about what we should dwell on. His Word instructs us about good things to think on. Only as we obey can our minds be renewed.

2/8/20

“The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭113:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Sometimes as we read and hear of what’s going on in our country, it is easy to become unsettled or even discouraged. But let’s remember, our God is high above this and all nations! He is our Sovereign Father Who still controls this world. Let’s keep our eyes on Him Who loves us.

2/7/20

“And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord…”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:14-15‬ ‭KJV
When hurtful and discouraging words come to us, or bad news, let’s follow Hezekiah’s example. Take it to the Lord! Spread out our problems to the Only One Who can do what we need. And Pray!
