“But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares…” Matthew‬ ‭13:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬
During this time when many are staying home and our physical movement is limited, we must be very careful that we do not become spiritually sleepy. Being out of church, it is easy to become dulled in our spirit and forget how desperately we need to be spiritually alert and vigilant. Jesus told us to “Watch and pray!”, and to “Be sober and vigilant”. There is too much at stake now for us to become careless and sleepy in our souls.

“Acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭22:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬
To know Jesus Christ in an intimate personal relationship is to have the greatest peace there is. The Bible says “He is our peace” and “He gives us His peace”. But knowing so little of Who He is, many people live in fear and constantly troubled. Today, let us determine, to get alone with Jesus, get into His Word, open our hearts to Him, and discover more of the wonderful peace He has for us.

3/29/20

“But He giveth more grace…” James 4:6 KJV
What blessed assurance we have in these words! To know that whatever trial we face, our Father gives more of His grace. Whatever weakness we must deal with, His grace is always sufficient. Whatever suffering we must endure, His grace will be more than enough to carry us through. Truly God’s grace is amazing! One day when we reach the other shore, we will sing “It’s all because of God’s amazing grace”.

“One thing have I desired from the Lord, that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord…”
Psalm 27:4 KJV
David went through times where he could not come to the Tabernacle to worship. His heart grieved because he loved God and longed to be in God’s presence. We are in a similar time now, unable to go to church, but longing to worship God and be with His people, in His presence. Let us take time daily to worship God and draw close to Him.

3/27/20

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬
As we face this time of uncertainty with so many suffering, let us keep before our minds, that we are just passing through this world. This world is just a brief time of preparation. And we have God’s promise that whatever suffering we may go through here, it is not even comparable to the glory that awaits God’s children. Let us hold fast and keep our eyes on the goal.

3/26/20

“He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.” Psa‬ ‭55:18‬ ‭KJV
One of the tactics of our enemy is to make us feel like we are facing the battle alone. But God reminds us that we are never alone! The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are with us to deliver us. ‬‬He sends angels to camp about us. He surrounds us with the love and prayers of our Christian family. So in this time of social distancing and isolation, remember, I am not alone!

3/25/20

“Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
This verse reminds us that all that is physical and material, will be shaken. It is happening even now in our world. The things like good health and prosperity that people depended on are being shaken. But God allows these things so that we will discover that unshakable work that He has done and is doing! May these times of crisis bring us back to that One, Sure, Unshakable Foundation of Jesus Christ.

3/24/20

“For Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat…” Isaiah‬ ‭25:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬
These words remind us that our Lord is the Helper and Protector of His people. In all of our weakness He is our strength. In all of life’s storms He is our refuge. In our distress He is our comfort. No matter what we may face He is always the One we need. And He never fails!

3/23/20

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast…”
Hebrews‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬
This is speaking of our hope in Jesus Christ. It is a hope that is so real, and so secure, that it is like an anchor for the soul! When difficult times come, when the storms of life threaten, we shall not be moved, because we are anchored on Christ. But it is a hope we must ‘lay hold upon’ as the previous verse says. We must make the choice to trust Jesus and keep holding on, no matter what comes.

3/22/20

“But now thus saith the Lord…Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
If it had been some fallible man who called us and redeemed us, then we might have reason to fear. But it is God Himself Who has bought us with a price! And in doing this He has made a covenant that He will take care of us, watch over us and provide all of our needs. What joy and comfort this brings when we know that our God will not, yea, He cannot fail!
