“In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.” Psalms‬ ‭71:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬ We are living in a very confused world. People are now thinking that right is wrong and wrong is right. And God said this is what happens when people give themselves over to sin. They become unqualified spiritually and morally to make sound judgments. But for those who put their trust in God, the truth of Who He is and what He says will take away the confusion. This does not mean that we know or have all the answers to every question, but it does mean we know the One Who is the answer! We know His heart of love towards needy souls! We know His power and willingness to change hearts and lives! And because our trust is in Him, we are not confused by the things of this world. It is our Father’s world and we know He is in control.

“But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God…” Psa‬ ‭73:28‬ ‭NKJV. In this verse the writer is making a contrast with the previous verse, where he said “they that are far from Thee will perish”‬‬. So it is clear, that for us to draw near to God, is not only good for us, but it is absolutely necessary if we are to survive in this evil world. For too long people have thought that a little bit of religion is enough. That they did not need to be serious and make the effort to draw near to God in our personal relationship. But may our eyes be open to see this truth, that we must draw near to God, we must be serious about the spiritual needs of our soul, if we are going to make Heaven our home!

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.””
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭50:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. Who do we turn to in times of trouble? Who do we call upon when we need help? Do we look to politicians or scientists? Do we seek the counsel of the ungodly? The reality is, we call upon whoever we trust. If we expect that man can help us then we will trust in him. But if, IF we trust in God, IF we believe that He alone can help us and deliver us, THEN we will call upon Him! May God help us in these troubled days, to call upon the only One Who has the power to do what we need. He alone has the power to change the hearts of people.

“But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me…” II Tim.‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Paul has just mentioned how no man stood with him, but they all forsook him. And Jesus warns us that when we stand for Him in this evil world, that will happen. But here is the great truth we need in these times, God stands with us and strengthens us! So in this day when so many are forsaking the truth and turning to lies, we must decide who we want to stand with us. Do I want the acceptance of my peers, and their company, or do I want Jesus to stand with me? People have no strength to offer us, but with Christ standing with us we will have access to His divine power, which never fails!

“And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you…” Neh.‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬  Nehemiah understood something that few believers seem to grasp today. He knew that as a servant to the king everything depended upon the king being pleased. In order to have the king’s resources he must have the favor of the king. Today most people imagine that God is there to always please us? So we are always asking for what we want and what pleases us. But do we realize that as Christians we serve the King of Heaven, the One Who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords? And that He is a great King? So if we truly want to have our King’s power and resources with us, then it all depends on His pleasure and whether or not we are living in His good favor! This basic understanding will change the way we approach everything in life. Does it please my King?

“The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.” Isa.‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ It is very important in these days of crisis, that we remember the promises of God’s Word which remind us of a coming day of glory and victory. We look around at so much evil in our world, so much of the pride of man being manifested, and we begin to wonder, how can things change? To most people things seem hopeless, which causes them to lose faith. But there is still a God in Heaven Who rules over this world! And He will be exalted! His glory will fill this earth! So let us keep looking to ‘that day’, and to our mighty God Who cannot fail.

6/3/20

“For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” Heb.‬ ‭2:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. One of the great things about Jesus coming and living as a man, is that He knows and understands perfectly all that we go through in this world. He has felt the power of temptation. He knows the weakness of our flesh. And yet He was victorious through it all. So when we call on Him for help, we are calling on the One Who has already overcome! He is the only One Who knows how, in every situation and temptation, to make it through with victory. So let us ask with faith and the assurance that He cares and He is ready to give all that we need to walk in victory.

“But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.” Psalms‬ ‭86:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. Today we hear the cry for justice. People imagine that they want what is coming to them, or what they deserve. But if we really understood our true condition, as God knows us, we would all cry out to God for mercy! And thank God He does delight in mercy! How grateful we should be that His compassions fail not, that He is so long suffering with us. So while the world asks for justice, let us, as God’s children, praise Him for His mercy, and pray that mercy will continue upon us all.

“He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth…” Isa.‬ ‭42:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬  In this day when so many are clamoring for justice, we can be sure that one day, it will come. This verse is a prophecy of Jesus. We can be certain that what He came to do, will be done! He will not fail! He will not be discouraged in this work. One day the King of all kings, the One Who bears the government on His shoulders, He will straighten things out. And in that day, the terrible injustice in the hearts of men, will be exposed and judged before all. May God help us to be prepared for that day. May our hearts be pure before Him lest we suffer His divine wrath upon all sin and  injustice.
