“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.”Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ ‭KJV‬‬. This was part of what the Apostle John heard when he was given a vision of Heaven. All of Heaven joined in this declaration of God’s glory and worthiness. As Christians we agree and believe that God is the Creator of all things, including us. But do we pause to consider, that we were all created ’FOR HIS PLEASURE’? This means that we are not here to live for ourselves. We are not here to do whatever pleases us. We are here to please God! In our old life of sin, there was no real peace because we were always going contrary to our created purpose. We lived for our own pleasure. At times, we would try to please other people, which never brought peace. But the good news is, when God saves us, He changes us and gives us a new desire to please Him. What a joy it is to have a renewed heart that loves to please our Lord! This was part of what made the life of Jesus perfect and holy, because “He did alway those things that pleased the Father”. And today, this is still the heart of God’s true children. We desire and aim to please our Heavenly Father.
