“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;” Revelation‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬. In the scene described in this chapter, the hosts of Heaven fall down and worship Jesus Christ, Who is the Lamb of God. Their song begins with words that are repeated often in this book: ‘Thou art worthy’. And one day, when we make Heaven our home, we will join that eternal chorus and sing, “Worthy is the Lamb!” But how important it is for us now, here in this world, to pause occasionally, and let our hearts and minds be focused on this ALL GLORIOUS LAMB OF GOD WHO IS WORTHY. One of the saddest things that has happened in modern Christianity is that too many have taken for granted our wonderful Saviour and Lord. We study His perfect life as the Son of Man. We sing about His power to save and heal. We preach about His atoning death on the cross. But how often do we meditate upon this truth, that He is Worthy of our unceasing worship and adoration? He is worthy of our all. He is worthy of the best we have. In reality, Jesus Christ is worthy of so much more than we could ever offer to Him. Let us take this truth seriously and respond as we should to Him Who is forever worthy.
