“He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.”Luke‬ ‭1:51-52‬ ‭KJV. Mary is rejoicing in what God has done in ages past. But she is also thankful for what God is doing again, in a far greater way, through the soon coming Messiah. Today we can look back through history and see many times where God has done these very things. He has brought down the proud and mighty men of this world, like Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar. He has lifted up the lowly, like Joseph, David, and Mary. But let us not forget in these evil days we are living in, that God has not changed, and what He has done He is going to do again! We are in a time when wicked, deceitful leaders have risen up in every sector of society and even in religion. In their pride they boast of their evil plans and their greatness. But let us take comfort, that our Mighty God is still on His throne! And He will once again humble the pride of men. He will cast them down from their high positions. And He will exalt the meek, who Jesus said “will inherit this earth”. So let us not panic nor be anxious about what is going on. Instead, let us be prayerful and thankful, that this is still our Father’s world.
