“Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭39:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬
The knowledge of our brief existence here and our human frailty is so important, because without it we would not seek nor learn to depend upon God. As long as we imagine that we can handle things, then we will continue, in vain, to try. But truly knowing our need will lead us to Christ.

1/29/20

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭KJV. This is part of the miracle of real salvation. Through faith in the precious blood of Jesus, our sin darkened hearts are washed and made clean. We become clear before our holy God, so we can walk in personal relationship with Him. This is God’s desire for all.

1/28/20

“For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” Lu‬ ‭9:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬
These words should bring us back to what is really important in this life. It’s not in the things we get, or how much pleasure we can have. The most important things are, our eternal soul and the souls of others. In all of our seeking and getting, let’s remember to keep our walk with Christ first of all. One soul is worth more than all this world.

1/27/20

“Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭41:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
God gives many promises to those who have compassion upon the poor and needy. And this means much more than simply giving material things. It includes having a heart that is touched by human need of any kind. May God help us to realize how much God has blessed us and be willing to share those blessings with others.

1/26/20

“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”
‭‭II Cor. 5:15‬ ‭NKJV
A true child of God does not live their life for themselves. Because Jesus died for us, and bought us with a price, our lives belong to Him. So that means that in everything we should be led by His Spirit, and do all for His glory. Everyday should be lived for Him.

1/25/20

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God…” Isaiah‬ ‭43:2-3‬ ‭KJV
Today as we face the challenges of a new day, let us remember Who it is that is with us. Who it is that has promised to stay by our side. Then, let us rest in Him, because He cannot fail.

1/24/20

“And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness…”.  2 Cor‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬
This promise Christ gave to Paul, is the same promise He gives to everyone who follows Him. No matter what we face, no matter how weak we are, His grace is sufficient for us. Our part is to trust and obey. As we do this, His supply will meet our need. Whatever you may be facing, His grace is enough.

1/23/20

“From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psa‬ ‭61:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬
There are times in our lives when we feel like we’ve reached the end of our resources. Our strength and wisdom is at the end. We simply can’t do what needs to be done, we feel overwhelmed. But thank God, even there, we can cry out to Jesus! We can find help in Him Who is our Rock and our Refuge.

1/22/20

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…”.  1 John‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
God does not want mere servants. He is not looking for employees for His work nor citizens for His kingdom. He desires children because He is a Father! And that is the kind of love He has for us, the perfect love of a perfect Father. May we rejoice that we are the children of God.

1/21/20

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…”. 1 John‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
What great love! God’s love is everlasting love, unfailing love, unconditional love, perfect and pure love! Love that seeks after us!
Love that doesn’t grow weak or weary! His love is so great, that it changes His enemies into His children! Praise God for redeeming love!
