“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬. This verse is a beautiful Old Testament prophecy of Christ. We rejoice in it because it reveals so much to us about why Jesus came to this fallen world. We are so thankful that He is our Prince of Peace! But do we realize, on a personal level, how He brings peace to our hearts? Do we understand that there is no peace for our soul until the government of our life is on His shoulders? Many people fail to understand, peace is not something Jesus gives to us like a gift. Rather, His peace is what comes when He has His rightful place in our lives. That means when He is our Lord. The Bible tells us that His kingdom is a kingdom of peace, so when He reigns on the throne of our hearts, there will be peace. And because He is the Mighty God, nothing can disturb the peace that He brings. May we welcome the Prince of Peace into our lives, give Him the rightful place He deserves and listen as He speaks peace to us.
