“…and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers.” 2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬. In this passage the tribe of Judah had faced enemy forces twice the size of their own army. Physically and militarily, things did not look good for them. But because they trusted God and relied upon God, He gave a great victory over their enemies. In this world, every child of God soon realizes, that the odds are against us, when we look at things on a human level. The powers of hell are greater than any human strength. This ungodly world system is set against us. Our own weak flesh fails us. But the real question is, “Will we rely upon God?” Now God’s Word assures us that His church, the remnant, is going to prevail. But we have to decide this personally. Will I trust God to the place that I am willing to rely upon Him, in all things? Will I depend upon Him to make the choices for me? Will I rely upon Him to fight the battles I could never win? And the good news is, for the soul who trusts and relies upon God, there is no power of hell or earth that can prevail against us! It is the trusting soul who can stand upon God’s promise and know, ‘Greater is He that is within me, than he that is in the world!’ (1 Jn 4:4) Let us rely upon Jesus Christ in all things and we shall overcome.
