“For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬. One of the reasons that Paul would not be ashamed of the Gospel is because He personally knew the Saviour Who is the heart of the Gospel message. He knew in his own heart and life the personal reality of the life changing power of the Gospel. This is the great difference for those who truly live their lives unashamed of the Gospel. To them it is deeply personal and real. To them it is the most important thing in their lives. To them Jesus Christ is the center and focus of their lives. But sadly, for the majority of religious people, they are only following the ideas and teachings of men. They do not know Jesus Christ in a personal relationship. They may know about the ideas of the Gospel, but are not experiencing it’s life changing power in their own lives. Let us make sure, that we truly know in our own hearts, the person of Jesus Christ in His saving and keeping power. And knowing Him, we will never be ashamed.
