“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him Who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬. One of the things every true believer soon realizes is, that the Christian life is a battle. We are in a spiritual warfare every day against the world, the flesh and the devil. And because of that, we should recognize that a part of Jesus Christ’s call upon our lives, is the call to be a spiritual soldier. As a soldier we must endure many things. We must not allow ourselves to be distracted by the unnecessary things of this world. As a good soldier of Jesus Christ we have one primary goal. And that is TO PLEASE HIM Who has called us! We’re not living to please ourselves or those around us. If we are truly saved then we are to be living to please our Lord and Master! He is the One Who we are following. He is the One Who gives us marching orders. He is the One Who leads and guides us and helps us to overcome every foe. Let us live only to please Him Who has called us.
