“Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law.” Psalm‬ ‭119:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬. What a wonderful thing it is to have our gracious Lord, open our eyes to see His precious Word. Throughout our days we read and see many things. We read the news and almost all of it is distressing. We see what is happening around us and so much of it disturbs us. But when we open our hearts to God’s Holy Word, God helps us to see wonderful things! We see the truth of a Loving Creator, Who reveals Himself as our gracious Heavenly Father. We see the beautiful story of Jesus Christ coming into this world of woe, to be our Sin Bearer. We see Him going to that old rugged cross and dying for our sins. And thank God, we see Him rising from the dead, triumphant over death, hell and the grave! We see the amazing exploits of the apostles and the early church and how God’s mighty power in them establishes the church far and wide. We see that a perfect plan of salvation has been provided for us, whereby we can be reconciled to the Father and become a part of His wonderful family. And how wonderful it is, to see in God’s Word, that He has a prepared place for us in Heaven! So let us take time with God’s Word every day, and ask Him to open our eyes to see all that He has for us.
