“Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm…” Exodus‬ ‭6:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬. The physical deliverance of Israel from Egyptian captivity, represents spiritually, what God does for our soul in redemption. Egypt represents the old life of sin. From these and many other passages we understand, that God does not save us so we can remain under the bondage of sin. He has went to incredible lengths to provide this great salvation which is intended to rescue and deliver our souls, not only from the guilt and punishment of sin, but also from the power of sin. What a tragic thing it is, that so much of modern religion presents a form of religion, ‘another Gospel’ that only saves from the punishment of sin. They fail to proclaim the true Gospel, that has the power to break the dominion of sin over us. But we should thank God for the precious truth of THE REAL GOSPEL, that offers to us real salvation, which will set our souls free! It is exactly as the Angel told Joseph of Jesus’ coming, “He comes to save His people FROM their sins!” Today, that is still why Jesus saves, to deliver us from the punishment and the power of sin. Thank God, the truth of the Gospel still sets souls free.
