“and that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬. A big part of the deceitfulness of sin is that it causes us to live our lives for ourselves. Our lives become a selfish existence that produces misery. We view situations and relationships in regards to how they benefit us. We make decisions only with our personal interest in mind. But when we place our faith and trust Jesus, and He makes us new creatures our lives change profoundly! We discover that living for ourselves was part of the problem and now we are thankful to be living for Him! And thank God, living our lives for Jesus liberates us from the tyranny of selfishness. May God help us to understand that we are to live everyday for His glory and to make Him known. We are to do all that we do to please Him rather than our own selfish desires. This is the only life of real peace and joy, when we live for Him Who died for us. Jesus laid His life down in the most unselfish act this world has ever known. Should we not lay our lives down for Him?
